Shiraz or Syrah is a medium to full bodied red wine. In warmer climates, like McLaren Vale in Australia, this variety can produce sweeter flavours, such as: liquorice, black olive and jam. While in cooler climates, like the Rhone Valley in France, it can produce such flavours as herbs, spices and plum. This variety can be consumed at a young age or for more premium wines, can be cellared for up to 15-20 years. Best paired with hearty meat dishes, curries, pepper steak, BBQ, and cheeses.
